Drawing and painting from childhood, Andree is a narrative colourist and fauvist primarily working in acrylic. An intuitive sense of colour anchors her work capturing spontaneous gestures, rhythm and humour. Colourful joy is the energy that leaps from her canvases.

Favorite shapes are trees, wolves, clowns and wonky bands of colour, dots…and dashes including metallic gold highlights. She excels at abstracts and often paints in a thematic series. Most recent is a bible series…What if Noah misheard God?...a ship overflowing with only turtles.  Another is the Imagination abstract series. These works both explore and enchant, inviting us to recast assumptions and enter another perspective.

Other dimensions in her life include clowning and making hand beaded hearts.

Andree is a Conseil de Culture des Laurentides juried member since 2010 and co-founder of Songes d’été, an arts festival in Val David, which has received numerous grants. She exhibits several times a year and is an active member of her community. Five % of all sales go to local youth organizations.

Andrée studied at the University of Ottawa (BA History, 1980), with an additional year in the Fine Arts program (1980-81) and has been painting and selling her artwork ever since.
